What happens when the other side has an AI department and you don’t?

Not without your permission. LITICUS staff enter a matter only when you invite us to work it, and every visit is on your access log.

The AI switch. Every matter in your Data Room has its own AI switch, and it starts off. While it is off, no AI reads anything in that matter. When your firm switches it on, files are decrypted in memory only, sent for extraction, and the results are written back into the same matter under its own encryption key. Every file the AI reads is logged, and switching it off stops any further reading.

The access log. Every sign-in, upload, download and AI read, including any by LITICUS staff, is written to a tamper-evident log you can review and export at any time. If anyone was in the room, you will see it.

Training. We never train AI on files in your Data Room. We train our models only on public records, such as court filings and published opinions. If a document from your case later becomes part of the public record, that public copy is treated like any other public record. We take it from the public source, not from your room.

Liticus operates on a per-matter encrypted Data Room model. Every accepted case receives its own isolated, access-controlled environment with:

We never train models on files in your Data Room; our models learn only from public records. Where AI processing is involved, it runs through APIs that do not train on your data and retain it only briefly for abuse monitoring before deletion. We never sell or share case materials, and never expose them outside your authorized legal team.

Once your matter is accepted, we create a new encrypted Data Room specifically for your case. You receive secure upload access with complete logging and traceability. Every file enters the system through a controlled, encrypted workflow that preserves evidentiary integrity.

At matter close you choose: export everything as a zip (files, a manifest with SHA-256 fingerprints, the access log and an export certificate), keep the matter closed in your Data Room, or move it to Archive for $99 a year, read-only and outside your storage allowance. Archive is built for appeals, post-conviction work and bar files. Nothing is deleted for non-payment.

Liticus is a human-led intelligence service augmented by AI for structured processing. AI accelerates the mechanical work; humans verify every timeline, contradiction, and scenario model before it reaches you.
